Hey there! We are Megan and Jacob Hannah, and we started Hannah Photography with the goal of creating a unique wedding photography experience for those who might be looking for something a little more unscripted and unposed. We don’t want to take over your wedding day, just be there to capture all the amazing moments! Our associate, Josh Kuckens, shares our philosophy and background in photojournalism and is the perfect addition to our team.

The people who come to us for wedding photography are often looking to capture a little of that Vermont magic that they have felt at some point in their life. Whether you spent time here in the summers as a kid, skied here, went to school here, or call Vermont home and are planning your wedding here, we understand why the mountains call to you!

#LOVEISLOVE

We invite all races, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, and body types. We want to capture your love, whoever you are!

MEGAN HANNAH

Lead Photographer | Studio Manager

I grew up in Nebraska and met Jacob when he was working as a newspaper photojournalist. I was working in insurance at the time but soon picked up photography as a passion. After we got engaged Jacob convinced me to try out life in his home state of Vermont and I absolutely love it. We have twin daughters, crazy cats, free-range chickens, mountain views and swimming holes, and life is just a little slower and a little more enchanted here.

When I transitioned full time into journalistic wedding photography with Jacob in 2012, I found that I loved the creative outlet and working with people on their wedding day. I love all the parts of the wedding day, from the quiet moments to the big and bold emotions. Capturing the found moments of the day and working with people is a true joy for me.

JACOB HANNAH

Lead Photographer

I graduated from RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) with a degree in photojournalism and I’ve never had any other career than being a photographer. Shortly after Megan and I got engaged, we decided to move back to my home state of Vermont, get married and start our wedding photography business. There are a lot of things that remain true in both journalism and weddings for me: I’m always looking to tell the story, and I’m fearless about getting those photos.

Now, as our twin girls grow, I’m even more keenly aware of the importance of family, generations, and their legacies in photos. Wedding photojournalism allows me to tell stories that showcase family, emotion, and love. In my spare time when I’m not chasing kids or chickens, I continue to work as a freelance photojournalist with the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.

JOSH KUCKENS

Associate Photographer

I grew up in Long Island and central Connecticut before attending RIT, where I graduated with a degree in photojournalism. After graduating, I worked for several publications around the country before settling down in Vermont. In addition to photographing weddings, I currently work as a staff photojournalist at the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus.

My strength in narrative and documentary photography transitions perfectly to weddings. My goal is to tell the story of your day as inconspicuously as possible and believe weddings present some of the best opportunities for intimate, storytelling photography.

I live in Hardwick with my partner, Emily, and our two Maine Coon cats, Rupert and Ralph, and our french bulldog, Julian.

We're honored to be ranked amongst the top photographers in the Wedding Photojournalist Association
